WARNING: May blow your mind.

I love ‘what if’ questions.

Today’s, which, I may add, is entirely the product of my mind, is the following:

“What if, instead of the world+universe being dark, and us having to provide light, either by means of the sun, or artificial light, the situation was that the whole universe was completely BRIGHT. And light bulbs would project ‘dark’, or suck the light in.”

Thinking further, who are we to know what ‘light’ is? For all I know, the above could actually be the case.

Oh my brain hurts, you people carry it on!

On the up

9stone 9pounds. Not bad – According to the ‘Body Mass Index’, which suggests an ideal weight for one’s height, I am officially no longer ‘underweight’.

One more puzzle piece in its place eh?

Kablammo

Within a mere 3 weeks, every part of the life I’ve known so far will change.

And those I’m to be with will also experience such changes.

What a crazy time.

Can’t say I’m worried or scared though… Just pure excited!

I do wonder how easy it will be to keep intact any parts of current life that I wish to preserve..

But so many people rave about what is to come, it can’t be bad.

Bring it x

Fact of life or stupidity on my part?

earphones can make and break my day.

They can provide the music to keep me happy.

They can (and frequently, if not always) provide the mechanism to depress me.

This is because it does not seem to matter in what way I wrap them up, roll them up, fold them up, wind them up – if they are then left in a pocket, bag, or even in my hand, for more than a minute, they become incomprehensibly tangled.

It could be that I subconsciously tangle them as I put them away. I doubt it.
It could be that I have not found the optimum method of putting them away. It’s possible.
It could be that the Almighty is determined to break my spirit, and this remains his only option – what with me into Uni and all..

I suppose that if this is all I have to complain about, I’m doing alright – still annoying though…

Yet it can’t dampen my spirits as I know that a new Black 4gb iPod nano is on it’s way to me now! It’s a good day. x

Floomp

Well it’s been a summer (so far), of eating pretty much the same as I usually do, and yet I am doing my belt up one notch tighter and am back to weighing just over 9.5 stone. Time to go to Uni and pile on the crap! x

Where’s the in-betweenie??

milimetre

centimetre

inch

foot

metre

yard

kilometre

mile

LIGHT YEAR

Does it not strike you as odd that all those clever people coming up with distance units failed to invent something inbetween a kilometre and a light year (9,460,536,207,068 kilometres) ?! Especially with our rapidly expanding experience of the universe, you’d imagine they’d’ve put something there..

Oh well, I suppose we all get bored of making lists after a while…

Back – for good?

After a number of agonising days – I collected my laptop (which I named ‘darklord’ [it’s black..]).

It’s so good to have it back!

In the meantime, had a crazy fun evening celebrating results with around 3 million students – all of whom seemed able to cram into the centre of Watford!

No matter, it was just such a fab feeling to be out there, knowing my future is secure for another few years.

Wahoo! x

Giggle giggle giggle giggle

Despite it being summer ‘n’ all, it’s crunch time for a lot of people (results-wise). So here’s a ‘pick-me-up’…

And whilst try my best to only put my own original stuff on this blog, there has come a time when a link shall now be posted.

A link to a video that has me in fits of giggles whenever I watch it.

It’s NOT for the faint-hearted. Not graphics-wise – its go virtually no movement amongst the few cartoon characters, but the audio may offend…..

a family walks into a talent agency

I’m sorry… x

Creaky Macbook hinge [updated]

This is written mostly for the benefit of anyone who finds this on google while searching for the problem above – but everyone have a read anyway…

Having coped with a horrid and loud squeeky Creaking sound on my Macbook’s hinge for a number of weeks now, I took it to the Apple Store in Brent Cross – whereupon I initially failed to get it to creak – typical!

Turns out that it only really creaks after the machine has had time to warm up, whreupon the plastic heats and expands and the joints rub against each other, resulting in the horrible sound.

So it’s off to be repaired (for free of course). The guys in the store had neither heard of nor seen this issue before on the macbook – not sure if this is re-assuring or not!

So I have a week of no Macbook. Goodness only knows how I’ll cope…

UPDATE: Macbook has been returned to yours truly, problem completely solved. Am now off to purchase applecare as this repair would cost £200 if outside warranty!

Not fair.

August 2004: Bought brand-new-on-the-market iPod (the white one with the black&white screen and the clickwheel)

August 2005: 1 year warranty runs out

July 2006: I spend all my money

August 2006: iPod breaks. Apple says they charge 155 pounds to repair. I have no money. I have no iPod

And so much for the ‘sale of goods’ act – it ensures the product works once, and then my rights are gone (according to the guy in the Apple store).

Am I tempted to replace my iPod with something other than an iPod? Yup.

Am I now reluctant to recommend iPods to friends and family? Yup.

Is it likely that people will ask me for such advice? Yup.

Will Apple lose customers as a result of this? Quite possibly…

It’s made worse by the fact that I Know they have spare ones under the desk and won’t give me one…

Needless to say, I’m not the happiest bunny hopping around right now…

Piece by piece

the jigsaw is put together.

Summer hols, results, Uni – and then the bigger picture emerges. Poetic eh?

But wait, the picture – I can see it.. it’s.. no, it can’t be.. yes it is! It’s a pair of boobs..

I love my life! x

zoom-zoom-zoom!

Well, with the part of the summer that I was to spend awy from home out of the way, I have around a month left.

That’s all well and good – except that at the end of those four weeks or so – I leave home.. Whoah.

Kinda crept up!

More so than that, results are in on Thursday – the most life-changing/deciding results I will ever have received so far, and possibly ever.

And the funny thing is that I’m not worried in the slightest – what would be the point?

What IS the point of worrying?

If you’re at a stage where you can do something about it, then do.
If you’re at a stage (as I am now with results for example), where you cannot do anything about it – why worry? It won’t get you anywhere, it can hardly make you feel better – so focus energy on other things!

So far, all I’ve managed to do is to decide I want ot learn to write with my right hand (just cos it could come in handy), and screw up my laptop by fiddling too much, meaning I have to reformat and start again!

It’s all good. x

moral dilemma?

here’s one for you..

Say person A owned item A.

Person A then got item A+.

Person B, meanwhile, decided that an item like item A would be very useful.

Person A kindly donated the now-redundant item A to person B.

A few weeks later, person A needs money.

Is it wrong for person A to ask person B for some money for item A?

If person A had not given person B item A, then person B would have bought an item like item A, and person A would have sold item A.

But it is now nearly two months after person A gave item A to person B.

Is it wrong to ask for the money – or at least some of it?

hmmm..

[you may have gathered that I did not make this up!… Person A is me. item A is my old computer. item A+ is my new macbook laptop. person B is my mum]

Whadya think?

What if…?

I love ‘what if..?’ questions..

Today’s one is: What if water had consciousness?

There are numerous reports of such goings-on by weird hippies and suchlike, but clearly not real.

My wonderment is based around the idea of water as a conscious whole, able to move around, rise up, as it pleased.

Suddenly the human race would be deeply troubled..

And don’t you mock me for such a ridiculous theory! At the rate evolution is going (eg Apes-humans-xmen), it could quite easily happen any day now.

Just thought you should be prepared. x

The wiser I become, the less I know

As I am made aware of more information, it becomes blindingly apparent that there is infinitely more that I am Unaware of.

And I know I’ve mentioned this before, but you can Never know the whole story;

So do.not.judge.

And keep an open mind.

One thing I am Sure of is that if more people in the world had open minds on some topics, then we’d have far far fewer problems.

I try this, and I feel that it can sometimes coming across as unprincipled, unpassionate, apathetic, and even weak in debating.

But it is merely a willingness to hear the other sides of a story – not necessarily accept them I might add, but to always listen to them.

It’s why I believe it a good thing that people like George Galloway and the BNP are heard – because without seeing the whole picture, no-one has a right to cast in stone an opinion.

What a ramble! Sorry for wasting some of your life – but in light of the current conflicts in the world close to my heart, such issues are presenting themselves more frequently!

Open-minds means open-hearts. and open-hearts means truth. x

My cue?

A
fter 10 days on camp and picking up Deborah from Israel Tour, I have become (if only temporarily, though hopefully not), far more committed to doing something to combat growing Anti-Semitism and Anti-Zionism (if there is a difference).

So I was on wikipedia, looking up Anti-Semitism, and came across the following picture.

It is a piece of graffiti.

Written on a wall.

At Leeds University.

I am not exactly worried, and more fuelled with determination to do something.

Am now in the process of finding which organisations I can join and help.

Please do the same – I’m a little worried that if something like this is openly seen, then goodness knows what lurks beneath the surface. x

Rock Bottom

So after Two holidays where I can’t say I ate huge amounts, or even brilliantly healthily, I now weigh 9stone 8.

Time to start piling on the chips – wahey!

Could it ever really happen?

Back from camp, more on that later.

For now, a more pressing issue demands my attention.

I take a lot of things for granted in my life, and although I know I shouldn’t, I do. A home, warmth, food, peaceful life, family, friends, and many more.

It’s not that I can’t bring myself to think about life without any of these, It’s that I can’t Actually imagine it.

And yet, one of the most important ones is facing a real threat, and God help us, I can see it happening.

With wars and enemies on all sides, Israel, our homeland, faces the first threat to its existence in nearly forty years – except that this time, with much of the world polarized on the issue, it could drag our Planet into a third, most devastating world war.

How how how could the Jewish people survive through that? If Israel really were ‘wiped off the face of the map’ – what would/could any of us do?

I really don’t know. Please God I will never have to – but for the first time in my life, I see the flickering of one of the candles that light up my life – and it worries me.

If we can do nothing else at the moment (though I know we can, and I shall), let us at least pray:

May He who makes peace in the high places make peace for us and for all the people of Israel, and say Amen.

Oseh Shalom bimromav, hu yaseh Shalom aleinu, ve al kol Yisrael, vimru: Amen.

Let all those who believe Israel and Jews to be evil read that and perhaps see that all we pray for is Peace. x

Camp!

It’s exhausting beyond any belief, mentally and physically and psychologically, but it’s so much fun!

check out the videos here: http://youtube.com/profile?user=justjoshlee

it’s only a few as I’ve had so little time to do anything, but great fun…
